Pennslyvania woman pleads guilty to forging bankruptcy judge's signature

Catherine Jeter, who was indicted as part of Operation Truth or Consequences in the Western District of Pennsylvania on a single count of forging a bankruptcy judge's signature (18 U.S.C. 505), pleaded guilty this morning under the terms of a plea agreement with the government.  According to the indictment (available here), Jeter forged the signature of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Judith K. Fitzgerald for the purpose of authenticating a discharge order that she then submitted to American Educational Services in support of a student loan application.  Under the terms of the plea agreement (available here), the government agreed that Jeter should receive a 2 level reduction to her offense level for acceptance of responsibility.  A sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 11.
